Wedding Table Plan

A good friend of mine Ben asked me to design the table plan for his wedding. The wedding was on the coast in Cornwall so he wanted a nautical theme featuring him as a giant octopus holding his "mermaid" fiance Florence in his tentacle and the tables represented as ship steering wheels.

Rather than draw the wheels I thought it'd be nice to make them rotate to see the different names at each table. I drew vectors in Illustrator and had them laser cut from 3mm plywood, behind each one I made a disc with the names then attached the wheels to the base board using bolts and washers.

Ben plays drums so I filled his spare tentacles with drumsticks and added his daughter Nia as another mermaid.
