Age of Jets - Castrol GTX

I made this way back in 2007 after the band contacted me on MySpace (that was still a thing people used back then) about making a video for their latest track.  I'd just started using Cinema 4D having previously been using 3ds Max so I was keen to use the video as a way of learning more about the software.

I've always been a big fan of 80s retro & neon so I developed some nonsensical plot of having a chap in a car (the song's about motor oil afterall) being chased around a city by a Japanese robot (the band were based in Japan) flying a jet.  I was also able to jam in some not so subtle references to Knight Rider which was fun. Turbo Boost!

As I hadn't quite gotten to grips with sketch and toon back then (for rendering the outlines) there are lots of lines flashing on and off here and there, I like to think of these as cool 80s glitches in the neon world and pretend they're entirely intentional.
